19th Century Staffordshire Pearlware Pottery Figures , featuring two ladies and a child. This is a beautiful, rare to find flat back piece, dating to the 1860’s. Hand painted details done with care, the faces are particularly well done. The piece is titled “Fortune Teller” on the base.
Bocage elements add extra dimension and interest to the grape arch the ladies are under. On a piece of this age with relatively neutral colors, I love the blue shoes of the seated young woman. A fantastic size, this is in wonderful condition for the early age, with small nose rubs but no chips or restorations that I can find. Two vent holes in the back.
