19th Century Paper Mache & Mother of Pearl Folio Desk Blotter

19th Century Paper Mache & Mother of Pearl Folio Desk Blotter, Napoleon III, late 1800’s. Truly beautiful and well preserved, shiny black lacquer with a hand painted bouquet of flowers. Luxuriously decorated with mother of pearl inlay integrated into the floral bouquet, around the center in an oval shape, and a wide border all around the folio. 

The MOP marquetry inlays shimmer light on the design of garden flowers. Original hand marbled paper lining. A stunning piece with the grace of time, a few small parts of the mother of pearl are gone from the border and it is a little bumped on the outside corners.
