19th Century French Limoges Hand Painted Roses Ormulo Mounted Tray, a beautiful tray to display your French antique perfume bottles on, or to serve delicious macarons at tea time. Bought at market, this lovely porcelain tray is light blue, with a center of hand painted French roses and garden flowers. The gilt design around the center has faded with the centuries.
Mounted in a gilt covered metal frame with elegant bow handles, just perfect! This serving tray is lavishly decorated with a painted porcelain base and an elaborate ormolu trim, the reed and ribbon edge is elegant. Composed of cast bronze with a gilt finish, the ormolu trim adds an element of spectacle to the rectangular tray, at once feminine and delicate, strong and durable. A treasure!
