Beautiful 1820’s English Georgian Pearlware Blue Edged Platter made in 1820-1829. Made in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, this early platter has a pearlware or creamware body showing an unusual blue glazed rim in a running pattern of overlapping feathers – the design is called Feather or Shell.
To find this in such fine condition is wonderful. Traditionally used for serving fish or fowl, this mixes beautifully with all the other antique blue and white pieces in your collection. In remarkable condition for its age, with the expected overall light crazing. Last photo shows this platter with a larger octagon shaped platter underneath.
- Measures 14-1/2″ x 10-3/4″.
