Beautiful over-sized 19th Century English Georgian Blue & White Platter, made in 1820-1829. Made in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, the heavy platter has a Pearlware or Creamware body with a deep blue edge design called Feather or Shell. To find this over 200 year old piece in such fine condition is wonderful.
There is some craquelure of the glaze as you want to see in a platter of this great age {!!} mostly on the rim. This type of platter mixes so beautifully with all the other antique blue and white pieces in your collection. Truly a fabulous find – there are not that many blue and white pieces over 200 years old in this condition and of this size. Last photo shows this octagon shaped platter with a smaller oval platter on top.
- Measures 18-1/2″ x 13-3/4″.
