Beautiful and decorative Antique Sterling Silver Tete-a-Tete or Bon Bon Tongs, with a most charming French rococo design. Lovely to use for presenting petite bonbons, but more often used these days to pick up a luxury sugar cube for tea.
Tete-a-Tete means "face to face" in French, it meant an intimate time with just one other person. Special Tete-a-tete tea and coffee sets were produced in the late 1800's and early 1900's, these little nips were of a smaller scale to accommodate the small sugar bowls for these little sets. Marked sterling inside, has classical claw design ends. Delicate and feminine, a beautiful addition to your collection.
