Antique Sterling Inlaid Spoons with Rose Engravings Set of 2
$48.00
Antique Sterling Inlaid Spoons with Rose Engravings Set of 2, with a beautiful engraved pattern of the Victorian rose Gen. Jacqueminot. Made by Holmes & Edwards, they began making silver in 1882, and really revolutionized the silver industry with their patent for sterling inlaid pieces. Sterling inlaid meant that sterling was fused directly to the metal on the most used wear areas before heavily applying the silver-plating. This resulted in superior quality, with almost no wear showing.
These two spoons are lovely, they have the rose engraving on the front, and have the owner's name engraved on the back - Sadie E Sims. Marked sterling inlaid and the maker's marks on the back. Use these two to serve while entertaining, to spoon fruits, whipped cream or anything else delightful. Or mix in with your other antique silver to create a wonderful mix and match look at every place setting.
