Antique Art Nouveau Silver Manche a Gigot d'Agneau

Antique Art Nouveau Silver Ham or Lamb Bone Holder, in French this is called "manche a gigot". {It will hold the bone while carving a leg of lamb or ham so that your hands stay clean.} The silver handle has a beautiful silver embossed floral art nouveau design, and is marked 800 {European standard for silver during the 19th century.}

Made in the late 1800's to very early 1900's, the Art Nouveau period was relatively short, which makes art nouveau pieces rarer to find. The "business" end of the holder is silver plated and steel, it is in good working order. The plating has wear as shown. Such a wonderful table antique to add to your collection.
