Exceptional heirloom 19th Century French Sterling Silver Vermeil Strawberry Serving Spoon with decorative gilded vermeil bowl in the shape of a shell. The handle has Louis XVI style repousse detailing, with beautifully designed foliage and Rose floral motifs. A stunning example of the luxury and elegance of 19th Century France - La Belle Époque. These spoons were used for serving strawberries according to some, others in France insist they are oyster spoons.

Made by Parisian Emile Langlous, the workshop at 67 Rue Monterguell in Paris in the late 1800's.
