19th Century Aesthetic Design Silver Plated Tea Urn, with beautiful floral embellished silver bands, an ornate floral urn finial, elegant handles and feet. This pattern is called pattern #1920, and it was made by Meriden Silver. Everything we love about the aesthetic Victorian period of design is a part of this tea {or coffee} server. This lovely tea urn was presented to Mary by her Grandfather in 1881, either when she got married or set up her own housekeeping as an independent Victorian young woman.
A wonderful addition to serve your tea, makes a lovely statement on display on your dining room or tea room buffet. In beautiful condition for its age, comes with a burner that sits on top of the round ring on the bottom. The burner has a cap that swivels on and off, it does have a spot of plate wear on one side. The very top circle around the handle has some wear, I've really upped the contrast and sharpness of the last photo to show this. A beautiful presentation piece, and a most welcome and gracious addition for your sophisticated entertaining this season.
