Rare to find 19th Century French Limoges Oyster Plate with Seaweed, a rare to find very early Limoges oyster plate made by Haviland et Cie in 1876. Beautifully modeled plate features five large wells to hold ice and oysters, or very large oysters.
This early plate for the ocean's delicacy has an exceptional design of leafy seaweed around the shell shaped wells. There are an underglaze darker spot as shown, and a few rubs from stacking for 149 years, to be expected for potted plates of this time. Gorgeous to display! Marked on the back with the 1800's Haviland et Cie mark. We have two available, price is for this one.
