Likely crafted by one of the esteemed French makers such as Sarreguemines or Choisy-le-Roi, this exquisite piece captures the romantic spirit of the 19th century. The design features delicate violets in raised relief, fluttering butterflies, and a softly textured ground in shades of moss, golden brown, and soft green accented by blush pink. 

Inside, the rose-pink glaze adds a touch of unexpected charm, while the architectural handle and gentle craquelure reveal the artistry of age. A rare and lyrical example of fine French majolica to treasure and display.
