19th Century Silver Medicine Spoon

19th Century Silver Medicine Spoon, a wonderful addition to your silver spoon collection. Beautifully made, with an elegant design.  I have seen these called 'tea strainers' and 'egg separators' online, but a spoon like this was specifically made to be able to give medications to patients.  Larger ones like this could also be used to aid in feeding a sick child or adult patient while they were in bed.

Elegant and quite refined, this is a much more decorative example than most spoons of this kind. Exquisitely formed and detailed, it has a deep duck bill spout bowl and a lovely turned wood handle. Sure to be a conversation starter amongst your guests. From a collector, in very good condition. Marked Pat. Pend.  on the back.
