Grand Tour Relief Collection – Circular Cherub on Canvas

A circular plaster relief of a cherub, on white painted canvas with a hand painted gilt edge. The raised plaster catches the light softly, giving this art work a gentle sense of depth as the light changes through the day. The canvas is gallery wrapped all the way around, the chunky canvas measures 1-1/2" thick.

The gilt border adds a quiet warmth, the white background keeps everything light, simple, and easy to live with in all kinds of interiors. Like their antique originals, they aren't always perfect, which is the look we purposely wanted. The result feels both storied and fresh. It’s the kind of piece that doesn’t demand attention, but quietly becomes part of your room—bringing a soft classical note that feels elegant, natural but not too formal. Because both the canvas and plaster relief are hand-painted, subtle variations in color are to be expected.

The Grand Tour Relief Collection is inspired by classical European decorative studies, where plaster reliefs were used to explore traditional motifs in a more intimate, interior way. Each piece is designed with the same white canvas background and gilt edging, so they work beautifully together as a group.
