This set of six antique French Terre de Fer plates immediately caught my eye in France for their beautiful deep red color and wonderfully detailed Griffin pattern. Made by Keller & Guerin of Lunéville during the Belle Époque period, between 1890 and 1905, they have the kind of presence that transforms a table. A regal griffin sits at the top of each plate, surrounded by scrolling leaves, berries, and decorative flourishes that frame the creamy white ironstone beautifully.
The rich red transfer decoration is especially striking paired with white ironstone, antique linens, silver, and flowers gathered from the garden. These are the kinds of plates that make guests ask where you found them. Substantial and beautifully made, they have the lovely weight that antique French tableware is known for. Each is marked on the reverse with the Keller & Guerin factory backstamp. A beautiful addition to your red transferware collection and equally lovely for setting a memorable table.
