19th Century Ironstone Tureen with Lid Foliate Design

Beautiful Antique Ironstone Tureen with Lid, made by J.W. Pankhurst, of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, England between 1850-1851. These mid 1800's collectible antique white-ware pieces are getting more difficult to find in this condition. This is such a charming early shape, elongated, with lovely decorative handles, a foliage design on the top. Used at a family table for holidays and special days, and loved.
Wonderful to serve your famous French petit pois, a collection of ornaments for display, or display. So attractive! White Ironstone is increasing in popularity, this piece will be a most welcome addition or start of your collection, and you will love to use it to set your prettiest table. Inside, you can see the "stilt marks" where the bottom rested while going in the kiln, indicative Victorian pieces.
