Late 18th early 19th Century Push Up Candlestick Holder, a one-light candleholder with push up ejector mechanism to remove any residual candle piece. Made of heavy sheet metal, with all the dark patina a century or more has given it - most likely made by the Shaker community.
This country antique has honesty as evidence of its past life, works well. A charming part of the past, works well. Wonderful to display with your French Country antiques.
