Antique Staffordshire Large Flow Blue Bowls Set of 4

Antique Flow Blue Bowls Set of 4, with a beautiful scalloped rim design that features delicate detailing around the rim. Made by Staffordshire pottery company Johnson Bros, of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, the company began manufacturing in 1883. The flow blue design is in a stunning cobalt blue color, scalloped edges, and a floral design that is called Florida. These are marked on the back for the year 1900. These bowls are the largest size the individual bowls came in, to find a set of four is wonderful.

Each is in good condition for being more than a century old, they were well taken care of. Each was hand colored with the cobalt blue glazing and fired, each has its own personality. One has an area where the glaze is a different color on the back of the bowl, I can't tell if this is just the way it came out of the factory or if this is an early professional repair - the glaze is slightly different there. Flow blue was so beloved and avidly collected that owners often went to the expense of having a favorite piece repaired. Please only adopt if you can love this set as it comes, with the grace of time.
