A charming and increasingly difficult to find antique French Vincennes Sèvres porcelain tea cup and saucer, adorned with a stunning hand-painted female portrait miniature on a rare apple-green ground. Delicately and expertly painted by the most accomplished painters of the era, completely hand decorated.

The cup and saucer feature vibrant apple-green backgrounds, accented with delicate gilt trim along the rims, highlighting the refined artistry of the period. The portrait is painted with extraordinary skill, reflecting the hallmark elegance of Parisian porcelain painters. The incredible quality of this cup is indicative of the factories and artisans around Paris from the mid 1700's to the end of the second empire.

Unmarked {around 70% of production in this era had no identifying marks at all} this is an original work of art. A once-in-a-lifetime addition to your collection. Has a fleabite to the rim, the tip of the handle on bottom has come off and has been painted in, and some wear to the gilding. Priced accordingly. Discovered in an old European château estate, it remains a rare survivor, increasingly difficult to find in such excellent condition.

Collector’s Note

During the 18th and 19th centuries, Parisian workshops surrounding Vincennes porcelain manufactory and the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres produced what collectors now call Vieux Paris porcelain. Prized for hand-painted portraits and florals, vibrant Sèvres colors, and gilt decoration. This tea cup and saucer exemplifies the finest artistry of the period, offering a rare opportunity to own a collectible work of French porcelain history.
