Antique Pink Red Staffordshire Transfer Plate R Stevenson & Son

Beautiful Antique Pink Red Staffordshire Transfer Plate, made by  R Stevenson & Son of Cobridge, Staffordshire, England in the very early 1800's. A gorgeous plate, with a meaningful center design symbolizing the second coming of Christ, surrounded by a lush border of flowers, fruit, and wheat.

The all seeing eye of God is at the top of the central scene, with the Bible opened to Isaiah's prophecy, Ch.XI:6: "The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them" The dove and the olive branch are symbolic of "Peace on Earth" which is written below them. The man on the bottom is a believer reciting the "Lord's Prayer", which includes "Give us this day our daily bread".
