Antique Madeira Linen and Richelieu Floral Embroidered Lace Centerpiece in cream is a beauty! Richelieu embroidery – cutwork with bars – is a form of cutwork lace dating back hundreds of years, and perfected by Madeira’s embroiderers during the last century. It’s one of the most difficult techniques in Madeira embroidery, and a particular favorite of ours. Richelieu pieces are distinctive, striking and beautiful.
This centerpiece has stunning cutwork flowers, and a lovely design. Sure to look gorgeous anywhere you display it. Embroidery work of this quality is no longer done, this is an heirloom work of art. Not perfect, please see encirlced little spots. This was part of a cherished family linen collection and was used by generations. Would make an absolutely exquisite pillow too!
