Merry And Bright French Country Holiday Kitchen

Merry and Bright French Country Holiday Kitchen. Visit a French Country style kitchen all decked out for the holidays in classic French decor.

It’s my favorite time of year, and today I’m sharing our FrenchGardenHouse kitchen, the heart of our home.  It’s where we gather as family and friends to enjoy each other’s company,  a cup of coffee or tea, and good food.

WELCOME TO MONDAY MORNING BLOOMS!

Monday Morning Blooms

Today is an especially exciting December post, as we are collaborating with Lynch Creek Farm and hosting a give away with them.  I’ll let you know at the bottom of this post how you can win a beautiful fresh centerpiece from Lynch Creek Farm like mine.

Today I’m opening my doors and sharing my Christmas kitchen with you. Our kitchen is not huge, and I still have to keep room for cooking, but I do love adding some holiday charm. The kitchen is my favorite room in our home!

Because it’s where we spend a lot of time every day, I added just enough Christmas to make it festive.  Our big farm table takes center-stage, so it’s set in a classic French Country style for the holidays.

I concentrated on bringing in greens, both faux and natural here and there.

This Radiant Holiday centerpiece from Lynch Creek Farm is the perfect focal point of our table setting.  It sits on a stack of antique round breadboards, and I nestled the container it came in inside an antique French ironstone bowl.

Christmas in the French Country Kitchen

I love the deer. I bought them long ago when our girls were small, and brought them out again this year. Because this is a good year to be very nostalgic about Christmas past, no?

The vintage Reserved sign is from an old restaurant or hotel.  I am always drawn to little quirky touches like that here at home.

I layered an old antique French hand woven large cloth on the table, and a long line of faux greens down the center.  The centerpiece has a lighted white glass insert that brings such a pretty glow to the table.

I used the silver I inherited from my grandmother and Mom.  Vintage French Ricard glasses from our FrenchGardenHouse shop used to advertise Ricard for a casual touch.  The napkins are really chunky linen towels, for some reason the kind of food we eat in the winter months ends up being messier than usual!

And then those plates!

Merry and Bright French Country Kitchen

The lace plates {also from our shop} are so gorgeous any time of year. On this wintery table, they remind me of snow flakes!

I am smitten with these old vintage candle clips. Bought long ago for holiday teas, we begin with one lit candle, share something special God has done or something we were extra grateful for this year, then light the candle of the person seated next to us for them to share.

Let’s just say I have always been {and probably always will be!} the first to cry and sniffle in a tissue.  Because no matter what kind of year we’ve had,  there is always so much to thank our God for!

Merry and Bright French Country Kitchen

When I pulled the deer out of their boxes, I saw that some little person long ago had put a little green wreath on the “daddy” deer – so I kept it on for a few photos.  {You do see him better without it!}

That really is the one thing I love about decorating for the holidays. I use antiques. And in our living room I use some “serious” antiques {ahem} but the spirit of Christmas brings to mind the magic of childhood.  So be sure to add a few touches of childhood in your own home for the holidays!  Just mix them right in with your antiques…it will make you smile. And remember all those sweet childhood memories you locked in your heart long ago.

I hope you enjoy these simple Christmas decorating ideas and get some inspiration for your own Christmas kitchen!

The lace plates {also from our shop} are so gorgeous any time of year.

I have finished my decorating this year. My tree is up and I finished hanging the ornaments yesterday. I have Christmas cards that my Dad sent to my mom during WW2 . She kept them all those years and when she past they were on her telephone stand. She knew I would cherish them as much as she did. I can hold a part of them and their love in my hand.

  2. Thank you for reserving a seat at the table for me in your beautiful kitchen! 🙂 I love that sign!….I so agree that this year it is all about nostalgia and what brings you joy. The joy of the deer that you purchased when the girls were little must bring a big smile to your face! I always admire your French Country stying and take in every detail. Loving the beautiful windows and door in the kitchen…so truly Merry and Bright! So wonderful to join you today for MMB…I wish you a most Fa-La-La kind of day!

  3. Lidy, I agree with Shirley…what a treat to have a reserved seat at your table. Your kitchen is truly merry and bright for the most wonderful time of the year. The LCF centerpiece is perfectly paired with the table runner of greenery. The sweet deer family is a lovely keepsake and memory of your girls when they were little. Christmas is all about the memories of the past and making new memories with my littles. With this being a most difficult year for all, I especially want it to be meaningful with Christ at the center of our celebration of His birth. I love joining you for MMB’s, have a lovely day!

  4. I love the simple elegance of your table scape. Those plates are gorgeous. I am following Lynn Creek Farm on instagram. They have beautiful arrangements. My decorations are in progress. We had a winter storm this weekend and lost power so now I’m behind. This week they hopefully will get done.
    Merry Christmas to you !

  5. I love the memories of Christmases Past as I bring out my decorations. Now that we are in our mid 70’s my husband thinks I should not work as hard on decorating. But I tell him I do it for me.? I love the memories more than the pretty lights and decor.

  6. I love the precious deer from the days when your girls were young. They are adorable and nostalgic for everyone I am sure.
Your french country kitchen is so inviting. The lovely centerpiece by Lynch Creek Farms looks beautiful. Placing it in an antique french ironstone bowl stacked on antique breadboards was a great idea. The antique candle clips on each plate is also a great idea. I love your family tradition to share something God has done or something you are especially grateful for with the vintage candle clips.
    Have a lovely week.

  7. Your French country kitchen is so festive and welcoming Lidy, and the centerpiece from Lynch Creek Farms is a lovely combination of casual with the milk can and elegant with the gold ribbon, and silver sparkles. The simple greenery runner dotted with deer is charming, and the kitchen setting is real and family oriented, rather than a stiff formal setting. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, surrounding ourselves with holiday pretties is great therapy!

  8. Barbara Zuleski

I so enjoy your love of the natural world brought inside for Holiday celebrations, the addition of the charming deer really make it warm and cozy. Lynch Creek Farm has so many lovely creations. We are now just adding our evergreens, holly and berries to our decorations.

  9. Lidy, I love the organic feel of your kitchen decorating. I get very nostalgic when decorating (which, btw, is complete, and has been since the week before Thanksgiving! ?). My decorations are also very collected from various friends who have bought and sold vintage and antique wares, and I love using them. This is another wonderful collaboration among you gals. French Creek on FB – ?. Thank you!

  10. Alice Genzlinger

I love the country French table setting. Everything about it. The bread board under the arrangement, the deer, the greens down the middle of the table. The fact that you have a country French table in your kitchen and even the red knobs on your Wolf range, the topiaries sitting in the window by the sink. You just know how to make my heart happy with each post. I won your give away last year that was so pretty so I. Not that I wouldn’t love the arrangement.. Our daughter lives in Olympia and when we visit I always go to the wonderful farmers market there.

  11. Sandra Brown

I love that you took us to your kitchen! That definitely inspires me to add a little decor to my own. Would love to win the centerpiece as I am only about 75% finished with my decorating and a centerpiece is still on the list! Would be happy to check that off! Heading to Instagram to make sure all of you are followed! Joyeux Noel!

  12. I finished my decorating yesterday and sat down last night to enjoy! I too incorporate little childhood things in my decorating and some antique items…I particularly love your deer and those plates are to die for! My favorite Lynch Creek Farms centerpiece has always been the miniature table top tree!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! ?

  13. I am following Lynch Creek Farm on Instagram. My decorating is only about 20% completed. Having a difficult time getting motivated this year. You beautiful post has given me some inspiration to get it down today! Thanks, always look forward to Monday morning.

  14. Donna Milazzo

I’ve only just started my decorating and it’s now on hold for another week as we visit our new granddaughter in Chicago! I have started following Lynch Creek on IG

  15. This year I decided to get going on Christmas decorating early so mine were up and being enjoyed on Thanksgiving day. Even though we are getting ready to move I still had to have the house decorated for the holidays. I found Lynch Creek on Instagram some time ago, but hit the “follow” button today. Thank you for all your beautiful decorating ideas – really like the antique candles on the plates – such a fun finishing touch.

  16. Marilyn Thore

Following Lynch Creek Farms on Instagram! I thought I was almost done with decorating, but after viewing your delightful kitchen table I just might have to copy a few of your decorating ideas…!

  17. I’m following lynchcreekfarms on Instagram. I’ve just started decorating. I LOVE the deer. I’m going to try and get some like that. Thanks for the inspiration.

  18. Following Lynch creek farm on instagram. I ordered a Fall wreath for thanksgiving and it is more beautiful in person than in the pictures! I love the Radiant holiday centerpiece; all the greenery smells so wonderful!. I am finished decorating UNLESS I decide to get out the snow village! Merry Christmas

  19. Eloise Fitzsimmons

I’m enjoying your blog for the first time. I love your kitchen -I like to mix antigues in everywhere too. I love your tradition of the candles. I’m going to try and incorporate that this year, but a little differently. I am following Lynch Creek Farms on Instagram. My decorating is at the halfway mark. Thanks for offering us this opportunity.

  20. Jenny Moon

  22. Melinda

I’m following Lynch Creek – thanks for the recommendation. As for decorating, I’m just getting started!

  23. Enjoy your blog and decorating skills. Just finished decorating the upstairs. Finished!! Onward to writing Christmas cards, cookie baking and candy making later this week.

  24. Barbara

I do follow Lynch Creek because they are from my home state. I relish the Christmas season. So my presents are all purchased and now I slowly decorate my home and tree. I believe in enjoying the advent season. So my tree is up but with only lights. I celebrated St Nikalaus day yesterday. For me Christmas ends on Jan 6. And as a result I can see other’s ideas. For example I adore your candle clips. And your plates are exquisite. Thank you for sharing. How grand to have a table in your kitchen. It is an inviting refuge all year long. Merry Christmas. Godspeed.

  25. Gina Hall

Merry Christmas Lidy, your kitchen is Gorgeous & the white table scape is elegant, I really like it, and the vintage photos add so much charm. Thanks for sharing the clip candle history, what a darling idea, I’m following Linch Creek Farms on Instagram.
I’m slow getting my decorations up with my chronic back pain, I still have a few more days to go.
I would like to win the giveaway
Thank you Ladies for the opportunity!

  26. Priscilla

Following Lynch Creek Farms. Loved seeing your use of antique bread boards. My heirloom is hanging on the wall but because of your idea, I think it will be on the table this season. Thanks for the opportunity. Merry Christmas!

  27. Leigh Bickings

Hi Lidy; Thanks for another opportunity to win the beautiful table setting for Christmas ! Leigh Bickings

  28. It was lovely to get a chance to ‘meet’ you. Your blog is enchanting, and I so enjoyed seeing your kitchen in the Christmas mood. Loved the deer theme. Everything looked so festive and inviting.

Wishing you glimpses of heaven in unexpected places.
    Brenda

  29. Sue Malizia

? Loving your antique deer! ? Adds just the right amount of festive cheer and bringing back Christmas memories is always nice. I’m done with my decorations…I really cut back a lot but what I brought out are all my favorites. ???? Also started following Lynch Creek Farm on IG.

  30. Oh Lidy…Those PLATES! How gorgeous and perfect for your French Country Holiday Kitchen! Your centerpiece is perfect with the soft glow and and greenery at your table and I love how you incorporated the bread boards. I got a kick out of your deer crown left by one of your ‘littles’…so sweet. I love the candle clips and your sweet tradition they represent too. As always it’s a treat to join you on these Mondays. Wishing you a Merry December and Christmas Season <3

  31. Patti Sanchez

So, so very lovely, and classy! Have a wonderful Christmas Lidy!

  32. Kathleen Crigler

I am in love with your table decor. I would like to find a couple of deer like you have included in the mix. We once raised a baby fawn who had been orphaned, and got very attached to him. He was 5 years old when he left, but he left some very precious memories in our hearts. Your Christmas memories and decorating are very special as well!!

  33. So beautiful and sweet. I adore those candle clips! I am finished decorating with the exception of my Christmas Day tablescape. I followed LCF on Facebook. Merry Christmas!

  34. What a great table! I love your dear deerscape! I’m very fond of deer and this ticks all the boxes. Oh, those plates are to die for. Honestly, Lidy, anyone would be thrilled to be seated at your table!

My decorating is behind because of my back issue that hit on TG — the day before decor. I lost close to a week. I’m moving better now and it is looking more festive but not ready for prime time yet. Everyone says “take it easy, you don’t have to do it all!” Except, I kind of DO! And even if I don’t, I just plain love the lights and color and season!

  35. Hi Lidy – I love the organic look of your French Holiday Kitchen table and centerpiece.
I am following LCF on Instagram and order gifts from them each year.
I’ve made it to the half way point of my Christmas decorating!

  36. Donna Bullock

Your table is beautiful! I’m about halfway through my decorating. I follow Lynch Creek on Instagram.

  37. Pat K.

I’m about half way in my decorating, I have to hurry!

  38. I have technically “finished,” but continue to refine!

  39. Debbie Joens

Lidy, thanks for sharing your lovely family table. Memories are such an important part of Christmas! I am following Lynch Creek Farms on Instagram. I’ve sent one of their beautiful centerpieces to my Aunt (who is 98!) because we won’t be able to see her this year. ?. I’m just getting started on decorations as the grandkids had outdoor choral concerts this past weekend. Thanks for participating in this giveaway and your lovely blog as well. Merry Christmas!

  40. Sharon Crigger-Stokan

Oh how I love MMB! You and your friends always make my week with your beautiful flowers, decorations and ideas! I especially loved how you light the candles!

Your table is so beautiful and I just love those ‘little’ touches that make it so special and beautiful – the clip on candles, the deer (especially daddy deer with the wreath on his head) and the touch of the pine cones so perfect!

  41. Martha Franks

Following LFC on Instagram. I’m about 3/4 of the way done decking! Love your decking! Merry Christmas!

  42. We’ve actually been finished decorating for quite some time. Christmas couldn’t get here fast enough this year! In the midst of so much chaos, it is so wonderful to be able to just enjoy the blessedness of Christmas. Oh, I would LOVE to win the centerpiece! And, your kitchen is simply stunning. I LOVE your style of decor and you have such a gift to bring it all together so beautifully. It was a blessing to visit with you today, Lidy! Many blessings to you this Christmas.

  43. I love how light and bright your kitchen is, and all the fresh and natural touches you have added for the holidays. I am about half finished my decorating and hope to get a lot more done today.

  44. My home is MERRY and BRIGHT! Two tall trees decorated with white, silver, gold and crystal ornaments, two tabletop trees, a decorated mantle with garlands, dining room tablescape with mercury glass trees and mini lights, wreaths hung indoors and out! I am all done except for wrapping gifts. Oh, yes, gifts are already bought and waiting for wrapping. And, I am following Lynch Creek Farms!

  45. Denise Carlson

Happy Day! Another great Christmas giveaway. This company really makes a beautiful centerpiece and it would be a wonderful addition to any holiday table, thanks for the opportunity.
    Denise

  46. I am following Lynch Creek Farm on Instagram. I have finished my Christmas decorating. Merry Christmas

  47. Joanne

Well, I thought I was finished, but then I see wonderful ideas like yours and then I find a need to add or change things up. This year I can’t seem to get enough bottle brush trees and deer added to an arrangement. I love how simple and inviting your table is for the Holidays. Elevating your Lynch Creek arrangement is a lovely idea.

  48. All posts are just lovely! I don’t know if you realize how happy you make everyone especially this year with your beautiful post!

  49. Stephanie O'Brien

Following Lynch Creek Farms on Instagram! Love their beautiful arraignments.
Almost all done with my holiday decorating thanks to my sweet 16 year old daughter. Hope you have a lovely and happy holiday!

  50. My goodness, Lidy–your kitchen is a beautiful room on any day, but it’s absolutely stunning in all its Christmas finery! Thank you for giving us a peek.

Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I’m featuring you this week!

  51. Carolyn

Dear Lidy, A very Merry Christmas to you and yours! A warm and cozy kitchen with a touch of elegance! You truly have a great eye! I am smitten by the NOEL on the dinner plates. Not sure if a card or ??? I would love to know. I just ordered a centerpiece for my mother Lynch Creek Farm! First Christmas ever we can’t be gathered together and my mom is 97. Cheers to a wonderful season! Carolyn – I can always add one more thing to decorating. I love doing the outside entry and porch! Lots of greens!

    1. Carolyn, Oh I hope your darling Mom loves her centerpiece. I’m hoping next year is once again a year that we can gather together with all the people we love. The NOEL on the plates are small Christmas cards we enclose with our gift orders here at FrenchGardenHouse. They are cute, aren’t they? Merry Christmas!

  52. Such a beautiful setting. The table is lovely. I adore the deer. The Noel plates are so pretty. So festive and yet elegant. Thanks so much for sharing at Love Your Creativity. I am happy to feature your post on Sunday. Merry Christmas.
