Get Ready to Celebrate with the One You Love

Get Inspired! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and instead of going out to an expensive Restaurant Meal, this might be a great year to celebrate with the one you love at home.

You can read about our Valentine Inspiration Dinner on the website for some ideas to make this year’s Love Own Day sweet. {and a great recipe for Kir Royales, too!}

I made sugar cookie hearts for our tablesetting by the fire.

Here’s How:
If you love baking, you can do this with any sugar cookie type mixture. Or to be truly authentic, you can find delicious Tuille Cookie recipes HERE . I cheated, and just used a boxed {quelle horrors! I know, I know} Sugar Cookie mix, made it according to the directions, then added enough milk to make it a flowing mixture I could pipe out.

1. Make sugar cookie mix according to directions, or make the Tuille recipe.

2. Spoon mixture into a piping bag. I actually do have those, but in a pinch, I used a snack size ziplock bag. Snip a tiny corner off the bag.

3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pipe hearts as shown with your cookie mixture. I suggest you make more than you need, since they break easily.

4. Bake according to directions, but you will need to start off with less time. I started with 4 minutes, since these are so thin. Do not leave these alone, you will need to check on them every few minutes. You want them to be browned, but not burnt.

I think they are beyond cute. They are very delicate, so really, these are just for on top of each place setting. Add a sweetly printed out card stock Love Quote {google them, there are hundreds} and your table is set with a special touch for those you love. Enjoy!
