The front of this case is a true work of art. Sterling silver metal has been individually hand cut and inlaid into the most extensive of designs. Lacey filigree form two borders at the top and bottom. The central cartouche {could be monogrammed} is surrounded by delicate flowers surrounded with leaves.
Inside, a lovely old fitted blue silk interior, and the little leather baffled sides that allow it to expand to hold sewing necessities for a lady’s bag. This is a lovely and large example of a charming Palais Royal souvenir of early 1800s for your collection! The case is elegant, pristine for its age and, and is fine in its value and appeal. These cases usually have cracks and never survive intact, this one has a few scratches, but that is all.
