Gorgeous Antique Majolica Dessert or Salad Set, a platter and four smaller plates, in a luscious Aqua color, with bright red cherries and a butterfly in relief. So pretty! Who doesn't love butterflies? This set was made around 1907 by G.S. Zell in Baden, Germany. Completely hand painted, the backs of the plates and platter are marked and have kiln marks as they should.
Despite a few small flakes to the rims, I couldn't resist, this color! So rare to find a set like this, most collectors don't wish to part with this pattern, ever, due to the color and charm of this design. Please only buy this if you can love patina and wear, this set was used and loved by the family it lived with for decades. Use this for a most decorative tablesetting, or display with you collection of French, English and American majolica. Platter measures 11-12"; plates:7-3/4".
