Lovely 19th Century Floral Still Life Oil Painting on slate, of roses, with a shabby cream wood frame, most likely painted by an amateur Sunday Painter.  This is the kind of painting we are all always on the hunt for! This signed original Oil Painting dates to 1867 and features a glorious spray arrangement of one deep red rose, one yellow rose, one apricot yellow rose, and a sweet pink yellow bud.

This will delight a rose enthusiast, gardener and art lover. over the more than 100 years the paint has acquired "craquelure" as shown in the photograph. The painting was painted on a slate that already had the wooden frame, there are tiny bits of green on the side. A decorative example of this genre, this original work of art is a beautiful addition to any collection, or the beginning of one.  The back actually has the beginning of another painting, the name Jane Gollenh {can't read the rest, sorry!} and year 1867 were carved into the slate. Measures 13-1/2" x 9-1/2".
