The very first edition of the highly collectable Dennison's Christmas Book. Dennison's was the manufacturer of crepe paper, and these books gave beautiful Art Deco ideas for decorations, costumes, gift wrapping and more. The cover is a full color portrait of Santa Claus himself, looking his cheerful self, surrounded by be-ribboned berry garland. The back is full color as well, a Christmas Tree. This is the hard cover edition, future issues of this book were paperback, it was used and loved, and is in "as found" condition.
Charming black and white illustrations, with two pages in color. This contains suggestions for Christmas, New Year's and Twelth Night, for use in homes, halls, clubs, schoolrooms and churches. Table Decorations, Gift Decorations and Unusual Ways to Give Presents, Costumes and Games. I love this little book! It's extremely rare to find an actual hard copy, these books can cost up to $50.+ for a "reprint"..so finding the original is quite a thrill. There is wear, the first page has an upper tear, but oh! this brings the history and magic of the holidays in the early 1920's to life. Measures 8" x 5-1/2". 24 pages.
