Exceptional Altar Candle Holder with gilt Lilies and Leaves, two arms hold a pillar candle, while the center is a votive made of a stunning cut to clear cranberry or red glass of gorgeous color. Most likely set on the altar of the Virgin Mary in a side chapel, the holder is from the 1800's and in very good condition. The cut to clear votive is removable from the gilt rim, it was most likely made by famed Val Saint Lambert, who began producing luxury crystal glassware in 1826 in Belgium.
Highly decorative and collectable, pieces like this are rare to find, most often they have lost or broken the central votive cup. A treasure! Display with your antique Madonnas, Santos, and other religious artifacts in your collection, will look stunning with a rose bouquet floating in the central cup for seasonal displays, too. Measures:12"h x 10~1/2" x 5~1/2".
