Decorative and rare to find collectible "Assiettes Parlante" {talking plate} featuring national heroine and Saint Jeanne d'Arc produced in 1860 by Gien. Situated on the site of an old convent in Minimes, France, Gien produced faience of the highest quality. What makes this plate such a stunning find is its condition, from a collector's estate, the colors of the transfer in black and the bright blue borders, the embossed plate blank, everything about this is amazing.

This figural cabinet plate portrays the final battle and victory of Joan of Arc's decisive Loire Campaign. Patay cost the English around 2,500 casualties while the French sustained approximately 100. Legends were made in this battle, the English:5000 men, French:1500. The French were led by: La Hire, Jean Poton de Xaintrailles, and Jean d"Arc} Having defeated the English at Patay and concluded a highly successful campaign, the French began to turn the tide of the Hundred Years' War.
