A little gem of a book, written by Arthur Train in 1909, that chronicles the life and {often trying} times of service of an English Butler in service to American "nouveau riche" families. Described in The Book Buyer in the early 1900's as "a keen, witty and highly amusing story of some newly rich people from the point of view of the Butler", this book is tres amusant! Published in 1929 by Charles Scribner's Sons, there are three monotone illustrations {plates} in the book.
