This is the sweetest Union Case I have ever seen, made by the Littlefield, Parsons & Co., which started producing thermoplastic Union Cases under that company name in 1858. The company produced more new thermoplastic case designs than any other; greater than 390 are currently recorded. {This case is made of thermoplastic, although most often these cases have been referred to as "gutta percha", which is incorrect, as according to experts no known photographic case has ever been proven to have been made of this substance.}

Features an exquisite design of a little girl petting a lamb, or a large dog, on both sides of the case, surrounded by a lush garden with an apple tree, and grapevines. She is wearing a straw bonnet, cape, and clothing of the 1800's.

The case is in good antique condition, there is a small chip on one side which is neglible. Inside, the case is missing the glass and frames, this is how we found it. One side bears the original paper label, the other has a tintype of a baby. Measures 3" x 2~1/2" x 1/2". A one of a kind little treasure from the mid 1800's.
