French Country Pillows | Decorating for Fall!

frenchcpuntrythanksgivingpillows

You can tell the season has changed at FrenchGardenHouse because I layer on seasonal pillows! Today I’m sharing a few new pillows that will bring Fall and Thanksgiving to your decor, if you love pillows, then you will adore this post! Decorating for the fall season with pillows is easy, beautiful and fun!

The reason I have a neutral interior at home is so that I can add pops of seasonal color to change the whole look of a room. Pillows add a huge seasonal accent to your decor, they are like jewelry your room wears. Pillows add warmth, and create a welcoming atmosphere, plus…they are an affordable way to give your rooms a little facelift!

Where to store all those pillows has always been a problem for me. Until now!

I’m wild about the pillow covers I’ve found for you {and me!} ….you can buy the different pillow covers and use your own down inserts. You can store the covers neatly in your linen closet or a drawer, and use the same inserts over and over again. How fabulous is that?

This pillow is quintessentially fall!  Rich shades of green, this is a pillow that has presence…and makes a statement. So pretty!  {The pillow cover looks like linen, but is an easy-care fabric that doesn’t wrinkle like linen.}

You can see the Pumpkin Pillow HERE.

There is so much to love about this charming squirrel pillow! He has plenty of personality, he’s taken from a 19th century chromolithograph, and gets along well with antiques as well as contemporary chairs and couches. AND he has a hidden zipper for ease! {all of the pillow covers do.}

Have you ever seen a more magnificent Turkey? Long the icon of Thanksgiving and the Harvest Season, his rich colors and stately presence make this a sure-fire favorite. I love the colors, I love the ease, and I love the price-point of these pillows! They make our home look elegant, and happy!

You can see the Turkey Pillow HERE.

These are sure to sell quickly, I’ve already planned the Holiday Pillow Covers we will all be loving this season, so once the Fall pillow covers are gone, there will be no more.

Make sure your pillows look their best. Once you add your own insert, be sure to give your pillow a little shake, punch in the sides a little to distribute the feathers. {No need to use force…this is a gentle shake and punch}

    Thank you Lidy, I am now receiving your emails far away on the west coast of Canada. Isn’t technology amazingly!!
    I am living vicariously through you and your French adventures! We live in West Vancouver B.C. And our church has an amazing annual flea market that I manage the vintage and antique linen booth. I have learned a lot from your posts over the years and I am always amazed that I recognize some of the antique linen sheets, French damask tablecloths and more rustic household linens that are donated to our flea market!! It’s really amazing what is in someone’s linen closet when they downsize or pass. The heirs generously donate to us as they do not really appreciate the history or value of these items. We also receive lots of sterling silver items that are considered too much work to polish!!
    There loss is our gain !! I love to receive your blog as I find it very educational, and inspiring! Thank you….Pamela

    1. Pamela, thank you. What an amazing flea market that must be! I love that you manage the vintage and antique linen booth. Linens are amongst the most undervalued antiques, as many people really don’t value them, or want to iron. But oh! the hand work….as you know, is amazing.

  10. Always look forward to your post. So many wonderful ideas and inspiration! Happy fall and blessings Lidy!
