Each bowl features a distinctive rectangular, gently flared form resting on four finely cast decorative feet—an elegant silhouette typical of quality 19th-century American or English silverplate workshops. These early ones were later copied by many silver makers including Meriden, with different variations of the elegant little feet, and sold as nut bowls when serving nuts to guests was all the trend.

These are early, and unmarked but clearly made with craftsmanship and attention to detail, these bowls offer a pleasing weight and a softly gleaming finish.
