Antique Pink Red Staffordshire Transfer Plate R Stevenson & Son

Beautiful Antique Pink Red Staffordshire Transfer Plate, made by  R Stevenson & Son of Cobridge, Staffordshire, England in the very early 1800's. A gorgeous plate, with a meaningful center design symbolizing the second coming of Christ, surrounded by a lush border of flowers, fruit, and wheat. Rarer smaller size.

The all seeing eye of God is at the top of the central scene, with the Bible opened to Isaiah's prophecy, Ch.XI:6: "The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them" The dove and the olive branch are symbolic of "Peace on Earth" which is written below them. The man on the bottom is a believer reciting the "Lord's Prayer", which includes "Give us this day our daily bread".  Very early 19th century, has a few rim chips as shown.

  • Measures 8-1/4".
