Antique French Limoges Soup Tureen with Lid and Pink Details

Antique French Limoges Soup Tureen with Lid and Pink Details, such a stunner! This 19th century French Limoges covered tureen is an exceptional example of the exquisite porcelains that were produced during this period by master ceramicists. Wonderful neoclassical shape has a 'rope' handle on both sides, and an elegant finial on the lid.  Unsigned, as many of the very early Limoges porcelain pieces were, from the 1880's.

It's the color of this tureen that is so rare to find! A deep bright cerise pink, hand painted in a band around the lid and top of the tureen.  A decorative gold border was painted around both as a lovely border. This is so decorative that it  will be amazing displayed alone, filled with blooming orchids, or your famous lobster bisque.  There is slight wear as shown, one of the handles has almost most of the gilding worn off, and here and there the border has worn. A stellar addition to your collection.
