Written by a group of horticultural experts and edited by E.L.D. Seymour, this complete garden encyclopedia is a practical guide to every detail of gardening. Published by Wm. H. Wise Company of New York, it includes a special supplement on Gardening for the Small home.  A big book, it has a wealth of information about every plant and flowering shrub imaginable. Illustrated with 61 halftones {photographs} and more than 500 line drawings, there are 1380 pages.

Two antique seed labels came inside the book, several of the black and white illustrations have been hand colored, perhaps by the original owner. Inside: beds, borders, berries, bulbs, cacti, campanulas, perennials, clematis, roses, cut flowers, dahlias, delphiniums, ferns, formal gardens, grapes, tulips, trees and everything else “garden” you could want to read about. A great book to add to your collection, display this with your French gardening pots, your antique gardening tools and seed packets. In good antique condition for a ‘useful’ book, this book has been loved and used, there is some wear as is to be expected.
