Exquisite Antique French Toy Horse Pull Toy, a very rare smaller sized light golden cream colored pony to love. Made with natural horse hair and hide over a wooden frame, this fine example of a children’s toy has a real horse tail, and retains her little ears {which are most often missing} She is in original un-restored condition, her hide is all present, loved and ridden by generations of children.
The earliest recorded toys covered with animal skin were toy horses in the late sixteenth century. In the nineteenth century skin-covered toy animals, particularly horses, were produced in France, Spain, Switzerland and Germany. This has the original wheels, decorative use is recommended.
