Pair of 19th Century French Country Chicken & Turkey Paintings in Gilt Frames, each is painted on wood board. Made in the early 1800’s, so well painted in rich deeper warm oils. The birds are shown on their nests, in a farmyard. These paintings capture fowl with exceptional detail in strong contrasts of light, in the style of the paintings of Flemish artist Pieter Casteels. The frames have wear as shown. Gorgeous!
The frames are beautiful, I have left them as found, they are separating ever so slightly in the corners as shown, but very sturdy. The paintings are in excellent condition with rich and warm colors. Decorate your home with this elegant pair of antique paintings for a true Country French look!
