Antique Wicker and Cane Flatware Butler’s Basket, originally designed for holding cutlery or flatware, with two compartments. A very well made basket with cane and wicker, with a lovely intricate detailed work. Baskets like this almost never survive, they had to be well taken care of. This one is beautiful, it does have old worm holes here and there, but nothing detracting.
Will look sublime on your antique French buffet holding your favorite silver, or use this as an embroidery basket to hold your silks, needles and scissors for a current heart project. Please only adopt her if you love the grace of time, this is in good condition for its age. Dates to the late 180’s.
