Exceptional pair of 19th century Louis Philippe Opaline Decanters, in stunning light Turquoise Blue, with the original stoppers. These date to the mid 1800’s, the delicate color and the purity of their elegant forms are representative for opal or opaline glass production in France during the reign of Louis Philippe. Gorgeous decorative bulle de savon shaped stoppers, original and in excellent condition.
These were purchased from a chateau estate, they have been carefully kept behind glass doors in an armoire for over a century by a collector, sublime! In fantastic condition, these are heavy, rough pontil on the bottom. Both bottles and stoppers have a faint numeral marking on the bottom. These are the creme de la creme for opaline bottles if you prefer them in their purest form. Lovely coloration, display these with your collection of antique French glass, or use these to serve alcohol at your table. Measure: 7~1/2″h x 3″ diameter; 6~7/8″ h x 2~1/8″ in diameter.
