A delicious creampuff of a dress, this Antique French Silk Ivory Christening Dress and Slip with Lace is lovely. Made with the tiniest little stitches, the hand made Valenciennes lace inserts are exceptional. The silk is soft and lustrous. From a wonderful collection of only the best. The gown closes in the back with two buttons.
The slip is edged with delicate hand made lace, and has two buttons in the back. In good antique condition, the slip has a darkening stain on one side as shown, I have not tried to get this out. The dress is in great condition, there are one or two places where the lace yoke needs a few stitches, it’s pulling a way ever so slightly. Considering the age of this set, I forgave this and hope you will too. A rare find – these silk sets are almost always completely shredded. Perfect for display or for your larger French Bebe and other antique dolls.
