Antique French Moule à Fromage Cheese Mold, in a brown glazed pottery finish. This smaller footed faisselle was made to drain a fromage frais, a soft French cheese known as “Faisselle”. These days the molds for this cheese are known by the same name. Highly collectable, this mold lends a touch of French Country charm to your kitchen, great to display.
This one is quite old, it has beautiful patina, worn and wearing the grace of time. As shown, the lighter color blossoms to a terra cotta on the other side. This was hand made, so each strainer like this is a one-of-a-kind work of potter’s art. Display elements of the season, a French soap, or with a candle inside. An exceptional addition to your French Country collection of pottery and faience ware.
