Beautiful Antique French Engraving Hand Colored in Gesso Frame, hand colored, of a stunning French noble lady in all her finery. After Claude Louis Desrais, (1746-1816.) this beauty has an exquisite hat, gown and shoes, and carries a walking stick and her fan.
The cream colored gesso frame is in wonderful condition. The print is matted in somewhat faded blue velvet, the blurry spots are the reflection of the photographer in the glass. Originally sold by W. & J. Sloane, a prominent furniture and decorative accent store that catered to wealthy patrons from the White House to the Rockefeller, Whitney and Vanderbilt families.
