Antique French Chromolithograph Advertising Label Unused- Chateau, this label dates to the late 1800’s, early 1900’s. Unused, it is part of an old printer’s stock. Labels like this were applied to all sorts of products, the printer had ‘blanks’ like this, and would simply print the products title on the label to be applied to all sorts of products. The chromolithograph process produced prints unlike any other printing process, even today. The colors are saturated and rich.
This label shows a fashionably dressed party of merrymakers taking a walk in the garden of a grand chateau. The colors are a soft dove grey and soft grey blue on cream. In good antique condition, there may be a tiny area of loss to the edge, this is over 100 years old. A gorgeous addition to your collection, perfect to frame, or to paste on a favorite journal or create your own art work.
