Antique Hand painted Tole Tray with a beautiful large floral design in muted colors of pink, apricot, wine, red, cream, gold, yellow and green. Enhanced by well painted foliage in subtle colors of garden greens, the center is embellished with flowers that include roses, asters, a tulip, forget-me-nots and other old world favorites. Gilt flourishes and leaves embellish the rim.
A decorative example of the old tole pieces so beloved by collectors for their painting. There is wear, and some small areas of missing paint on the front as shown, commensurate with the age of this tray. The black background has some alligatoring, one part of the rolled rim is bent.
