Antique Art Deco Ceramic and Silver Plate Biscuit Box, in a rare and wonderful oval shape, and in stunning white. The top is “quilted”, boxes like these are extremely rare to find, they are prized by collectors. To find one in pristine white is a dream, this beauty dates to 1910-1920.
Marked D.R.G.M. for Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster, meaning that the design or function of an item was officially registered inside all of the German states. In antique condition, there is a repair to the bottom as shown where there was a chip, it does not go all the way through to the inside. Some wear to the plating as shown right where it meets the porcelain, the band glows gold – we have priced accordingly. A wonderful addition to your collection of antique biscuit boxes.
