Antique 1800’s Copper Blancmange Mold, molds like this were used by cook to create the most delicious puddings. Gleaming copper, this mold has such a wonderful shape, in a rare to find ‘castle’ top. Made in the early 1800’s, this mold is a beauty but not in perfect condition. Marked 180 on one side.
I think cook probably loved this one better than the rest, there were lots of areas where her famous red currant sauce could pool on the pudding when served, she favored it. There is wear, some of the corners have split, and the bottom is slightly out of oval. There is also an area where it is darker, no matter how much our resident polisher {Mr. FGH} tried to get it better. Not for the perfectionist, but a stellar addition to your collection. Priced accordingly.
- Measures 5-7/8″ x 4-1/4″ x 4″h.
