1850’s Paris, France Handkerchief with Note, this is such a special find! This white handkerchief was bought in Paris, France, in 1851, and gifted to Miss Isabella M Foster in 1899. The note states that the handkerchief was bought in Paris, in 1851 and gifted to Miss Isabella M Foster in 1899.
I did wash the handkerchief, as over the last 172 years it had gotten quite darkened. The E monogram is so finely embroidered, exquisite! There are still a few very very faint small areas of slight darkening, as is to be expected of a textile this fine and almost two centuries old. Exceptional to add to your collection!
