Antique Early English Wedgwood Drainer, a white ironstone meat or fish platter drain or drainer. A wonderful and decorative oval platter drain that would be placed on a large platter for the excess juices of the fish or meat to drain into the platter below at the table. Marked with Wedgwood and what I believe says & Sons on the back, a very rare impressed mark that dates the piece to about 1790.
Perfectly imperfect, there is a chip on the underside as shown and a hairline, and craquelure. A fantastic piece to add to your antique French, English and Continental white ware and strainers / drainers collection.
