The Vista del Arroyo Hotel on the eastern lip of the Arroyo Seco hosted high society from near and far, as the golden age of train travel brought visitors from all over the world to Pasadena, California in the early 1920's. This appetizer knife has everything the hotel is known for, elegant, stylish and understated. Beautiful design, the handle has the traditional classic design used by the hotel, with the large V on one side of the handle, the Vista del Arroyo on the other.
Rare to find, the hotel closed in 1943 as U.S Department of War acquired the property and converted it into an Army hospital. Today the building is a branch of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. A wonderful addition to your collection of antique and vintage sterling and silver, I use these on cheese boards. Wear as shown on the blade edge.
